Sound Journeys or Sound baths have been receiving a lot of publicity recently with, ITV’s Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield both taking part in a gong bath live on air, on This Morning recently.
A sound bath is said to alleviate stress, boost creativity, eradicate anxiety and stress relates illness and create a sense of well-being. A sensation is created whereby various beats are entering your ear and the sounds seem to move between the two. It’s possible to feel the vibrations all around the room during a session. It is an easy therapy to enjoy as a beginner to meditation.
This is not a new phenomenon, the use of sound for healing is an age old therapy and can be used for a multiple of conditions, physically, mentally and spiritually. Various vibrational instruments such as singing bowls, tuning forks, gongs, drums, rattles and chimes are used to promote clarity, vitality and health.
